As a Buyer Agent I provide a 45 to 60 minute meeting with my clients before we see any properties.
We need to feel comfortable with each
other. We need to establish a bond, as we will be working toward the
same goal. That is to find you a home in the location and price range
with many of the features that you desire. Soup to
Nuts of Buying a Home is our meeting outline.
Have an idea of how long you expect to be in the property.
If you
intend to be in your new home less than five years you need to be
especially concerned with resale value. Buying a
Home with Resale Value gives an expert's opinion.
You need to prioritize required versus your wish list features.
Reading the short article Deciding on
the Bells and Whistles should help. Designers and Realtors®: A Winning
Combination contains a list of questions that might also help
prioritize your Bells and Whistles.
Are you paying all cash for your home?
If not, your lender and your
mortgage consultant are of utmost importance to you. You need a
consultant that will take the time to explain your various options and
disclose all the costs to you. You also need a lender who can get the
loan processed on time, as agreed, for your closing date.
Even if you are going to buy a new home consider having a
professional home inspection.
Keeping
an Eye on the Builder explains why.
There are numerous listing search sites on the web.
They vary in
timeliness and completeness of information. You will get current,
detailed information from me to get first crack at any new properties
that appeal to you. See the format of how I will send them in this example listing.
